We had a fantastic dinner here! The Sambal Fish was the absolute star, the sambal sauce is packed with shrimp paste flavour and perfectly spicy, just like back in Malaysia. A true MVP! The Hakka Fried Pork was another highlight, crispy on the outside, tender inside, and full of aromatic fermented five-spice flavour. Really moreish. Other dishes were solid too: the Pork Knuckle in Vinegar had a rich, balanced broth (though I wish there was more meat), and the Salted Fish Pork Belly Pot was tasty, even if it's a wetter version than the traditional dry one. The Kumquat & Sour Plum Drink was super refreshing and cut through the richness of the meal. Overall, a truly authentic experience. We left stuffed and already planning our next order. Highly recommend if you're craving real Malaysian-style "order dishes to eat with rice"
The staff were lovely, food portions were big for the price and tasted good. They offer quite a lot of dishes so I will be back to try their other offerings.
Had a fantastic experience at YumYum Tree recently. I ordered the Hainanese chicken rice and it was honestly one of the most delicious and well prepared versions I have had in Perth. You can tell the food is made with care. The staff here are friendly to everyone and create a very warm atmosphere. It makes the dining experience even better. I will definitely be coming back again. Strongly recommend this place!
Finally, I’ve found my favourite Malaysia restaurant!!! Love everything here!! The food is great, the dessert are so yummy, the services are good and the portions are so valued for money. Love love love 💜💜💜💜
It's quite a popular restaurant serving some interesting Malaysian dishes that make it worth a try. Overall, the dishes were presented well and the classics are cooked well and tasty. For me though, the sauces with the Rice Flour Roll and Pork Trotter were really strong detracting from the Rice Flour Roll, and the pork trotter was intense sweet and sour. I'm probably just not used to the dishes but if you like strong sauces then you should enjoy it as the inderlying food was good. Bring cash to avoid the card surcharge.
