Run by a beautiful couple with years of hospitality experience, Wellington bistro delivers European-style food with a fine-dining feel — without the fine-dining prices, making it our weekly local! The space feels elegant but is extremely family-friendly, My husband and I love it here because we are not comprising on where we’d like to eat out because we have our young kids with us. Normally choosing kid friendly restaurants that we don’t necessarily like! Think cocktails, wine and gourmet food-these guys have nailed it! Sundays are family days here with specials such as discounted meals and long Sunday lunches. True European style! Food and wine specials keep things consistently interesting and fresh. The food is delicious, the service is warm and genuine, and you can tell the owners truly care about their customers, coming over to check in, say hello and or share a story or two! It’s family and you can tell Wellington bistro is their baby. Too good to keep a secret so finally sharing my thoughts online! From one happy customer, Jessica

Wellington Road Bistro: A Hidden Gem in East Brisbane Tucked away in East Brisbane, Wellington Road Bistro had managed to fly under my radar until I was lucky enough to experience it and what a pleasant surprise it was. From the moment you arrive, the bistro's gold sign sets the tone for what’s to come: a relaxed, modern take on bistro dining in a welcoming, community-focused space. The bistro has a cosy, intimate vibe, with a wooden table as the center piece of the dining area. The scent of freshly polished wood lingers in the air, adding to the warm, inviting atmosphere. The walls are adorned with Australian artwork and prints, giving the space a local, personal touch. The service was also spot-on, friendly and attentive, without feeling overbearing, feels like you are served by family. As for the food, it’s nothing short of outstanding. We kicked off the evening with the fish brioche and a cheese soufflé. Both dishes were beautifully simple but executed with such care and precision. The soufflé, in particular, was delicate and rich, while the fish brioche was light, and full of flavour. For my main, I opted for the special: a pork cutlet served with celeriac, cabbage remoulade, and mustard fruits. It was absolutely divine, perfectly cooked and seasoned, the flavours were simple yet incredibly satisfying. The mustard fruits added a subtle sweetness that balanced the richness of the pork. Honestly, it was so good I could have eaten another one right then and there! I also ordered a side of green beans, which were perfectly cooked, tender yet crisp and seasoned just right. But the real star of the show was dessert. On a cool, rainy night, the warm rhubarb with vanilla ice cream was just what I needed. The sweetness of the rhubarb paired with the creaminess of the ice cream was pure comfort food, and it rounded off the meal beautifully. Wellington Road Bistro is the kind of place you’ll want to return to again and again. Whether for a cosy date night, a catch-up with friends, or simply because you don’t feel like cooking. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the prices are more than reasonable for the quality on offer. I’m already looking forward to trying the new menu next time! Highly recommend.

What an amazing trip to the European cuisine this place took us. It was phenomenal! Food was so delicious. We started with Babaganoush & Tigelle eggplant dip and cheese soufflé. They both to die for! All flavor melted in your mouth perfectly. Then we shared cauliflower (please have this to share, it’s not that big as a main, but the taste is BIG & you don’t want to miss this) and barramundi on baked paella. The Barramundi was so fresh and delish! My partner had the pasta, I think it was their specials. It was AMAZING as well. We finished up with Apple crumble, really was the cherry on top. Taste, presentation, freshness of your food is top notch. Their Ambience is so cozy, we stayed there eating, laughing and just have some wine for hours. Didn’t want to leave. They make you feel like home. Each and every one of the team members from the front to the back are really friendly. Go talk to them, you’d guarantee some laugh, great companies and left with belly full of Joy. We can’t wait to go back! Missing you guys already till next time xx

Calamari, Tartare, and Barramundi, all cooked beautifully, with incredible flavours. Wine choice compliments every dish. Really nice vibe, friendly staff. Prefect lunch. Bottom line $170 for two with wine. Perfection in East Brisbane.

Had an exquisite dinner here this evening. Staff were lovely and very attentive throughout the evening. Started with the cheese souffle as an entree which was the standout in my opinion, then followed with the Confit duck and pasta special as mains. Then finished the evening with the Basque cheesecake. Would highly recommend as an intimate spot with high quality food for a date night.
