Always being a reliable food restaurant as time goes by. Also, the price there is reasonable. Their home-made milk tea is tasty and generously portioned. Last but not least, the owner is dedicated to the business which is truly touching.
I've been to this restaurant many times as it's my favourite Vietnamese restaurant. Delicious meals. A previous reviewer said white people get table service. Not true. As a whitey, my family and I have always had to order and pay upfront at the counter. We obtained our own water and cutlery also. Back once again, they aren't stingy on the prawns in their garlic prawn with veg stir fry, fully recommend. Tasty duck too. I'm loving all the hydro plants.
โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ I just have to say โ this is the best restaurant in Hobart! It was my first time there, and everything was absolutely delicious. The wontons tasted just like the ones my grandma used to make, so comforting and full of flavor. What I love the most is that every dish tastes fresh, like the soup is made from real ingredients instead of being loaded with seasoning or MSG. Iโve tried other Vietnamese restaurants before, but their soups were often too salty and made me super thirsty afterwards. Here, itโs totally different โ the broth is light, rich, and perfectly balanced. It was such a cold day, but I happily finished every drop! We ordered three main dishes and one entrรฉe for two people, and we ate everything โ even though we were so full! Thatโs how good it was. Definitely my favorite place now. โค๏ธ๐
In addition to the tasty food, I had a lovely chat with the restaurant owner about how life can be challenging sometimes. We also had a great conversation about the fresh juice she usually makes. I really appreciate it when people are real and authentic โ and she truly was.
- Poor customer service: itโs easily seen that Asian customers need to self-serve while white customers will be treated with friendly greetings and table service. We and other Asian customers need to get the water ourselves, while white customers get immediate water as well as greetings as soon as they come in and after theyโre sitting at the table (I still dont get served water after they get water, even though Iโm sitting just next to and maybe because theyโre regular customers/reserved-table customers so they get different service?). - The soup is overpowered by the Hoisin Sauce (for Beef Noodles Soup) and Shrimp Paste (for Spicy Beef Noodles Soup), which make the signature flavour of the soup taste bland, we canโt taste the beef bone sweetness as well as the hint of lemongrass. There was even a slice of chicken in Beef Noodles Soup (?) the Spicy one was still considered okay but the Beef Noodles Soup is pretty strange and taste not like one. - Unwelcoming atmosphere. - Expensive price for the food received
