Used to be one of the icons in perth for cheap and satisfying food venue even though they didnโt have a concept of service. (They just almost throw the dishes in front of you). I havenโt been there for a long time and happened to be there today. I only found out their service is the same and the price has gone up quite a bit. Unsure if itโs owned by Chinese, itโs irrelevant as food was good. However, I rather go to the duck place cross the road.
Shaking beef, pho and pork noodle chilli sour soup. Wow, all tasted great, all servinge were large and great value for money. Definitely the place to have some great food
Been visiting viet hoa frequently over the past year, found the pho ga to be delicious. However I came by on a Wednesday afternoon and was met with terrible service. The waitress placed a plate of mint leaves without bean sprouts and walked away. I waited for her to come by and requested for bean bean sprouts and she said they ran out of it. If you have ran out of sprouts wouldnโt it be polite to inform upon ordering? A short while later she went to open a new bag of sprouts and me and other patrons now have bean sprouts with their noodle soup. It seems like some patrons wonโt have the usual accompaniment because they visit at the โwrongโ time. I was charged $19 for pho ga instead of $17.50, the cashier informed me because I asked for extra chillies. Curious I ask if this is a new policy as previously I always paid $17.50 but she was not able to answer and kept reiterating that it because of extra chillies. If this is indeed a new policy, wouldnโt it be courteous to inform upon order and not during payment? I find thereโs a great disparity in service when the boss is around and when she isnโt, the employees sometimes take things in their own hands with unclear payment terms and lousy service.
Viet Hoa has been my only Vietnamese restaurant that it's absolutely necessary once a week... From their Combination Ho Fun (Pho) to their Fresh Pork Prawn Spring Rolls and their Pork Chop Broken Rice (ask for a proper sunny side up so the yolk is runny) and their Vietnamese Coffee... All 5 Stars! There are a hundred more things on the menu and many others are also favourites to many but the gems are the few above.
One of the best Vietnamese places in Perth that my family has come back to for decades. Today, the prawn crackers were a little oily but still had that signature taste and crunch that everyone loves. The rice paper rolls were fresh and tasty. Broken rice is a classic - today the eggs were particularly fluffy and crunchy. The cucumber and pickles pair really well with the pork chops and other sides and rice. The soup with both the broken rice and pho were bursting with flavour. Definitely recommend! Will be coming back, Iโm sure.
