I liked the traditional white chicken but the rice was too wet and sticky for my liking. Rice not heavily flavoured but there’s soy sauce from the cooked bean sprouts. Chilli sauce was not the usual garlic chilli with lime, not sure what it was. Ginger sauce was standard. My wife liked the rice. Soup is the standard msg tasting soup. Overall great value for $12:80 for this area.

Had lunch at Uncle Authentic Chicken Rice in the city — I went for the traditional chicken rice with extra chicken, plus a veggie combo and milk tea. The chicken was tender and flavorful, the rice portion generous, and the stir-fried greens were fresh and nicely done. The milk tea was a good match for the meal, and the prices were quite reasonable. Service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere casual yet comfortable. A solid spot for a tasty and satisfying meal in Adelaide City.

Wanted to try Uncle Authentic after seeing all the hype, it was pretty good but not amazing like what others are saying (at least in my experience) As you can see by the photos, presentation could be improved significantly Crispy skin chicken was not crispy or overly juicy like people have been saying, but I was impressed by the pork’s flavour and crunchiness of the crackling. The broth that comes with the chicken rice is also very refreshing and flavourful. The shallot pancake was extremely disappointing for $5, and the fried egg was over $3 and was not seasoned in any special way, quite literally is just a plain fried egg. Laksa broth was okay, just tasted like a broth you can make from a powder/packet. Unsure why I can’t change the amount we spent on this review, me and my partner spent around $50 for our meal Overall it was quite good but probably won’t come again!

One of the best quick lunch spots in city during office hours! Their menu is simple with the favourite being Crispy skin chicken and rice, which they serve with broth on side and some sauce. Quick and filling, and i love it especially during the cold days. The shop is small and cozy inside, so not very ideal for big groups. But great for 1-4

Simply the cheapest Hainanese Chicken Rice @ $12.8 in town but still very delicious, reasonably portioned, and come with a small bowl of chicken soup. It's an unbeatable deal. For a more deluxe meal, just pay $5 more to make it a meal. In this case you will also get a small plate of veggies and a soft drink or cold Malay Milk Tea😋 It's always having quite a long queue outside the restaurant or fully occupied during lunch hours. Be prepared to come earlier before 12 pm or simply buying takeaways.
