We had our work Xmas party here. From the organisation before arrival to our designated staff on the night, the experience was seamless and so enjoyable. The food was exceptional and they were flexible and accomodating to all our needs. I love when you can go somewhere with great food and drinks, that is trendy and busy yet still doesn’t compromise on the service. Exceptional! Special mention to Olivia!

Not gonna lie!!! I loved every mouthful ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ the super snack set is a fabulous idea and the perfect little pre theatre meal or after work catch up. Also very impressed with Sapporo black. Will be back for more! Well done Chef, well done Boom Boom Room team👏👏👏👏👏

Hidden beneath the Adina Hotel, Boom Boom Room is a moody, glamorous basement bar serving Japanese-inspired dishes in a space that feels like a secret underground lounge. The vibe is definitely on point, with plush interiors, low lighting, and even an old vault used for private events. We started with some edamame while catching up over cold Asahis and a “Way of Tea” cocktail – an unusual but refreshing mix of gin, yuzu and matcha. The blue mackerel with shishito peppers and lemon oil was fresh and well balanced, and the sashimi plate was beautifully presented with thick, high-quality cuts. Sadly, the soft shell crab hand roll missed the mark – the crab was soggy and lacked flavour and the pork gyoza, while fine, weren’t anything special. For mains, the Ora King salmon with seaweed teriyaki glaze was cooked to perfection and full of flavour, and the Mayura Station chuck tail flap was incredibly tender, paired nicely with pickled veg and dipping sauces. A side of grilled broccolini with kombu brown butter was surprisingly one of the highlights – simple, but packed with umami. Desserts really stood out. The hazelnut ice cream sando was the perfect size and beautifully balanced, and the passionfruit white chocolate mochi was fresh, vibrant and visually stunning. Unfortunately, the service didn’t live up to the setting or the food. We experienced long waits to order drinks, water glasses weren’t topped up, and there were mix-ups with our orders – including the wrong dishes delivered to our table twice, and confusion over a glass versus a bottle of sake. Even after raising the issues during the meal and again when paying, staff didn’t acknowledge the concerns or offer an apology, which was disappointing for a venue at this price point. A cool venue with some standout dishes – but service needs a serious lift before we’d consider going back.

Absolutely to die for food, and second to none service. My sister and myself thoroughly enjoyed the varied dishes in our banquets and were feeling very pampered with the 5 star service from Olivia, our delightful and humorous server. Catered to my dietary issues without even batting an eye. Couldn't recommend the place enough.

The Boom Boom Room is one of Brisbane’s most stylish underground spots, and honestly, the atmosphere alone makes it worth a visit. The space feels like a hidden gem—dark, moody lighting, a glamorous fit-out, and an energy that makes you want to stay for hours with a cocktail in hand. It’s the kind of place you go to impress a date or kick off a fun night out with friends. I went for the banquet menu, and while the presentation was nice, the food didn’t quite hit the mark for me. As someone from Japan, I found the sashimi poorly cut and the flavours not quite where they should be. That said, the vibe of the venue completely carried the experience—sometimes the setting, music, and mood are what make a night, and that’s exactly what Boom Boom Room does best. If you’re chasing a stylish atmosphere and great drinks, this is the spot.
