This review is specifically for the all-you-can-eat sushi train experience. Unfortunately, it lacked freshness during our visit. The sushi on the belt didnโt taste fresh, and the hot food items were cold. It felt like some of the dishes had been sitting out for most of the day. There were limited options available on the train, which made the all-you-can-eat offering feel underwhelming. The salmon in particular lacked freshness and flavour. The restaurant was very quiet when we visited. With fresher ingredients, made to order hot dishes included, and a wider variety on the belt, the experience could be much better.
This was my first time visiting and trying the food here. The restaurant is located right in the city centre, opposite Perth Town Hall. I was pleasantly surprised by how affordable the conveyor-belt sushi is โ only $4.9 per plate. Vegetable and basic plates are even cheaper. I highly recommend getting the $38 unlimited buffet for 1 hour like I did, as it allows you to try many different dishes. The sashimi was very fresh (salmon and scallops were delicious). You can really see that the toppings are very generous, which makes you feel full quite quickly. I also loved the eel sushi. They have tasty takoyaki (octopus balls) as well, and donโt miss the matcha cheesecake with matcha mochi for dessert. The matcha flavour is rich and intense โ absolutely wonderful. The staff were friendly and attentive. I will definitely come back
Stopped by Sushi Kaze to try their 3 for $20 lunch special, and it did not disappoint! Iโm always looking for that perfect balance of quality and value, and this spot hits the mark. Soba Noodle Soup is a comforting, clean broth with perfectly textured buckwheat noodles. The addition of the narutomaki and seaweed made it feel very authentic. TheTempura Prawns: Crispy, golden, and clearly fresh. They paired perfectly as a side to the noodles. I also had Chicken Katsu/Teriyaki, the portion size was generous! The chicken was tender with a nice glaze, served with a fresh salad and well-seasoned rice. The service was exceptionally friendly, which makes a huge difference in a sushi train environment.
Unfortunately, our meal fell way below expectations after reading all the positive reviews. Food we ordered from the menu was hot, well prepared and tasty. However, there was a very limited variety of dishes on the sushi train itself and was disappointed to see a robot churning out all the sushi rice. Ultimate low was the tuna sashimi which was very thinly sliced/hacked (see photo) and did not taste fresh at all. Japanese tea was served in a dirty cup. Overall, not an authentic Japanese dining experience.
We've been here a few times and tonight with the kids in a booth on a Saturday night was just amazing. Food was fresh and saucy. The fusion sushi and the fried items are always a winner. Udon is kid approved and was under $90 for a family of 4. Free parking on the weekend at Pier St CPP.
