A small and perfect place for lunch. The food is good and fresh the vibe is so cozy and homie. Will be back to try different menu's. Service is really good and kind. I felt welcome and really happy. This place made my day today :) Note: I got coffee from different place but outside drinks is not permitted which is understandable.
Came across this Korean restaurant - Sogumm on my IG so decided to give it a try. It has a decent amount of space with an open kitchen/bench to serve customers. I quite enjoyed the set out as the chefs could engage with their customers making the dining experience more interesting. I ordered the zucchini pancake and the gomtang. As mentioned on multiple previous posts, the serving size was a little small for the price they charged but it was just right for me. The quality of the food was very good. The beef brisket in the gomtang was tasty and soft. The clear broth was so clean and I was not thirsty afterwards. It was my first time and I enjoyed it. I shall come back next time to try the other items on the menu and hopefully the Sogumm team can maintain the standard.
I tried their Gomtang ($26), a Korean beef soup, which is served with beef brisket slices, rice, clear broth, and radish kimchi on the side. Itโs definitely the kind of comfort food that brings warmth! The broth was very clean and rich, yet subtle. The beef brisket slices were tender, but still had enough texture to provide a nice bite. The radish kimchi was also good! It had a nice crunch, and the flavor was on the milder side. Aside from the dishes, the place itself was very pleasant. Itโs a small space with a capacity of less than 20 people, but it doesnโt feel cramped at all. I recommend sitting at the bar, as they have an open kitchen where you can watch the chefs prepare the food. Itโs really pleasant to watch. Iโll definitely come back to try more of their dishes!
SOGUM is a gem located in Richmond, Melbourne, where you can enjoy clean and authentic traditional Korean cuisine. Watching the chefs cook right in front of you made the experience even more enjoyable. Most importantly, the food was beautifully presented, clean, and absolutely delicious. The chefs and staff were all very kind and welcoming, and the interior had a cozy and friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend visiting to experience truly authentic Korean food.
Sogumm is a cosy Korean brunch spot in Cremorne serving clean, thoughtful food that feels comforting without being heavy. Itโs not flashy, but every dish shows a lot of care, and you can taste that in the details. I came by myself and ordered the Galbi-jjim ($24) โ brisket slow-braised until tender, finished with a black pepper glaze. Rich and warming, especially with a bowl of rice. The Pa-Dak Sanjeok ($9) was unique โ chicken thigh wrapped with spring onion. A bit on the pricier side for the portion, but a nice protein bite. My favourite was the mungbean pancake. Crisped perfectly in the pan, not too thick or too thin โ the best texture Iโve had in Melbourne so far. At times I felt the food couldโve used a little something more, but I couldnโt quite put my finger on it โ which probably means theyโve already pushed it to the max and designed it exactly as intended. What I really appreciated was how passionate the chef was in explaining heโs trying to create flavours you wonโt find elsewhere. I think theyโve done that well. The service was top notch โ the staff took time to explain each dish and its essence, almost like a Korean-style omakase experience. It really made the meal feel more considered and worth slowing down for. The vibe suits Cremorne well โ surrounded by offices, itโs the kind of spot where you can slip in for something warm, hearty, yet still light. My bill came to $60 for everything, and Iโd happily come back.
