The food tastes really good! I tried a lot of dishes and none of them disappointed — everything was delicious. It would be perfect if they had fried chicken with bone, since I’m not really a fan of boneless fried chicken, but it still tasted great overall.
Take a stroll along the street at Bailey's Corner and take the stairs down from the street level and you will find an amazingly delightful and tantalising Korean restaurant called Sikdang. Everything on this menu is authentic Korean. There are no 'white' or homogeneous versions of dishes. From local traditional favourites like seafood and kimchi pancakes, to bibimbap served in hot stone bowls, to noodle soups, beef bulgogi, and or course, Korean fried chicken. It's all here. The fried chicken is so tasty and has the wonderful Korean crunch on first bite with a very tender and juicy chicken on the inside. There a few small sides served with your meal including radishes, kimachi and melons, that cleanse your palate and refresh you in between tasty mouthfuls. There is plenty to select from the menu. You do however have to go to the counter to order. Service to table is friendly and courteous, with your order delivered to you quickly. Unlike Korea where the ambient noise level is very low, expect patrons to Australian level noisy. Also unlike Korea, there is no kimchi salad bar with unlimited sides. This is a little sad. A fantastic place for authentic Korean food, if you can't make the flight to Korea. Masisseoyo, Juseyo! 😀
It was so delicious! The fresh stir-fried baby octopus was like magic—it made the rice disappear in no time. The seafood soft tofu stew and the makguksu (buckwheat noodles) were absolutely excellent. We also ordered sweet soy chicken and a chicken feet set as takeaway. We’ll definitely be back again! ————————————————————————— We visited today for a family lunch and ordered sausage & rice cakes, the bulgogi meal, cold spicy noodles, garlic soy chicken, and spicy seafood & pork bone soup. Every dish was flavorful and satisfying. The only minor issue was that we ordered cold spicy noodles, but a different type of spicy noodles was served instead. On a previous visit we enjoyed the buckwheat noodles (makguksu), which were excellent, though I would not recommend the spicy noodles we received this time. Anyway when I visited with friends before, we avoided meat dishes because one of them was vegetarian. This time, however, I had the chance to try the bulgogi, which was truly outstanding—so much so that we finished everything, including the vegetables. Many thanks to the friendly staff and the chef who prepared such delicious food. Overall, a very enjoyable experience, and I look forward to returning.
We came all the way to Canberra from Sydney for this. It lives up to the hype, super authentic and delicious food, just like the what we had in Seoul. You can find dishes here that are hard to find in Sydney (e.g the chicken feet stew). For the standard Korean dishes, the taste is also next level (for example the steam egg - very fluffy outside and smooth inside, with layers of umami flavours!) I would also recommend the sizzling octopus and pork back bone soup! Staff are really friendly too, and the price is quite reasonable for a big feast like this. Highly recommend!!
I thought it would be just "Another Korean restaurant" but it was actually very nice. The staff members were so friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was nice, and the dishes were authentic and nice. I noticed that many people were having chicken feet but i had something else. Personally i like chicken with bones but they only have the without bone option and not smaller size chicken as a side menu. However, overall it was good and I would recommend this place to my friends.
