very very nice hainanese chicken. So tender and soft. It is in dood court but, I think they are as good as the shop on the street.
I heard many good things about Sayong Curry and Laksa and had been wanting to eat here for some time. It certainly did not disappoint! I ordered the chicken laksa ($15.50). It was really delicious and one of the better ones I have had. It was a very generous portion with lots of vermicelli noodles, meaty pieces of chicken, bean sprouts and tofu puffs. The broth was very creamy with a nice hint of coconut cream. I really liked the spice level too and found it to have a good heat kick. There was the option to have sambal added as well which I happily accepted. The laksa wasn't oily either which was good. Service was great as well. It was very efficient, courteous and friendly. Staff appeared happy to see diners enjoying their food. They were very open to catering for dietary restrictions. Prices here are very good and portions are generous. The store serves authentic homestyle Malaysian food.
Going to call it - this is the best Chicken Laksa in Sydney. The broth is so rich, thick and tasty. $15.50 for a Chicken Laksa, huge portion size, loads of chicken. $2.50 for a can of coke! The queues for Sayong give away that the food is worth waiting for. Staff friendly. Service fast. Arrive early at lunchtime if you want to get a seat in the foodcourt. Heard this place is being demolished to make way for a public square. Please Sayong move somewhere else, I need your laksa. Keen to try the Mee Goreng before the bulldozers arrive. My friend had the Hainanese Chicken Rice which was enormous and came with rice and soup. I think it was around $15 and very tasty. Sayong will only get more popular as other eateries in the food court close with no further lease renewals.
I had the Nasi Goreng with Beef here and it was amazing! The food was full of rich Malaysian flavours that really surprised me in the best way. The sticky rice, tender beef with a creamy rendang sauce, and the sambal with crispy anchovies and peanuts all went so well together. The sambal added a perfect spicy, salty crunch to balance the richness of the beef. I didn’t expect to find such delicious food in the middle of the city at such a good price. It’s a real hidden gem. I’ll definitely come back again!
Sayoung curry and Laksa Excel greatly in their delivery of hot fresh south east Asian delicacies. I love the mee Goreng and the chicken Laksa - both of which with additional chili will remind you feel alive again and wake up senses that lay dormant and untroubled It’s a bit tight down there With the rush of office people students, and those that come from far away to enjoy. Excellent excellent food.
