Food is excellent, no doubt. And the portions are pretty generous, so we sometimes ended up buying their EXPENSIVE take-away containers - 50 cents each! It's fine if the takeaway containers aren't of cheap quality, so they can be reused. UNFORTUNATELY, the moment you open them at home, no matter how gentle and careful you are, they break, and some plastic parts land on the food! ๐ฐ๐ฑThese plastic bits are only visible if you're determined to find them; otherwise, say goodbye to the food and the effort you put into the takeaway. To SamSiSekki management, please, if you will continue charging your customers 50 cents for a takeaway container, get the better-quality ones ๐๐ผ.
We ordered 3 dishes off the menu. Beckpan with steamed pork was great, so yum and refreshing, Iโm obsessed with the soybean sauce, it goes with everything else and generouse portion too. We got the seafood pancake but Iโd just suggest ordering the normal kimchi pancake because thereโs not much seafood in it anyway to even be called a seafood pancake, not worth the extra money you paid, but the actual pancake itself is phenomenal, best one Iโve had so far. Snow fried chicken is so dry, itโs bone-in and I donโt recall seeing any options for boneless, small portion, itโs a solid 5/10 for me, would not order again. Staffs are friendly and helpful, they have a banchan bar and unlimited refill, self service water and cutleries under your own table, minimal waiting time.
Coming here almost makes me feel like I am in Korea. I have been here twice and both times have found the food to be very authentic and so delicious. I also love that they include bancheon (side dishes) as part of your order as these are always complementary in Korea. I try to go here every weekend that I am in Canberra now, I love this place so much!
Been here a couple times on the way back to Sydney. Nice warm, comfort food for the drive back, reminds me of my late halmoni. The food is reasonably priced and the portions are good but thought the jjiggeh could have had less bones and more broth. Itโs a spacious dining area, great for families and the DIY banchan station is very convenient.
Decent homemade style Korean food. Highly recommend the pork trotters, squid and fried chicken. There are pool tables too if you would like to have a drink and have some nibbles. Only downside is they continue to charge 50c per takeaway box when we spent over $300 on meals.
