Itโs great that Roll vs Bowl open in the City - very convenient for people who live and work in the City. However, the food used to be very good - I ordered a lot from the restaurant. The food used to be rich in flavor and tasty to me when they newly opened in August but I feel like the taste is quite different recently. I recently ordered Pork Chop and Grilled Chicken for takeaway in Jan - both taste less flavourful and the colours of the meat look lighter than before. Hopefully this was just a temporary thing, as Iโve enjoyed the food previously.
We were just passing by and decided to give Roll vs Bowl a try after Toffee (the German restaurant we were heading to) was closed. There are so many salad bowl options Iโd love to come back and try, but this time I went for the fried rice with crispy pork. The sauce was a little too sweet for my liking, but overall it was still pretty good. My hubby had the chicken teriyaki and found the sauce a tad sweet as well, but he smashed it quickly anyway ๐ The absolute standout though was the Vietnamese Egg Coffee. Iโd never tried it before and wowโฆ it was AMAZING. That alone made the visit worth it. Iโll definitely be back to try the Viet Sea Salt Coffee next time weโre in the area. Staff were friendly and service was quick.
Looking for authentic pho?** This Vietnamese spot is a gem! The flavours are truly authentic, the shop is clean, neat, and welcoming, and the staff are always professional and friendly. Wishing their business continued growth, may God bless them richly ๐โจ --- Lily Rph
The food was OK and packed with flavor. The serving size was generous-definitely worth the price and more! I wouldโve given a full 5 stars, but our experience was dampened by the staffโs attitude when taking our order. She seemed impatient, didnโt smile or say thank you, and appeared annoyed while we were deciding what to get. It was our first time visiting, so we were a bit unsure of the menu. We were also disappointed to learn that the dishes displayed on the cold table were only for takeaway, as they looked really appetizing. Overall, good food but the customer service could use improvement.
We got chicken pho, pork banh mi and Vietnamese sea salt coffee. The pho was really good, the broth was just amazing and the banh mi pork was so crispy and refreshing. The front staff guy recommended the sea salt coffee, it was top-tier, so good I went back the next day for it. However, they did forget my banh mi, my friend had already gotten the pho and we were half way eating and it still hadnโt came yet so we just ask for it, they seem to have forgotten? But no worries they made it really quickly. Love the cozy vibes inside.
