Went here years ago and totally enjoyed it. No idea why it took 14yrs to return. The food was bountiful, fresh and delicious. The service was friendly and hospitable. The ambience was warm and cosy. Can not understand the negative reviews this place has received - MUST be from a competitor who obviously can't compete or compare. Definitely adding Paul's Asian Affair to our regular list. Excellent Asian / Malaysian restaurant in Newcastle, with a deserved longh time good reputation. Good service, accommodating own birthday cake request & tending tables well throughout. Was passionately encouraged to try the Kwai Teoh Sate- & it did not disappoint. Very good gluten-free range & options, large portion size main dishes, entrees seemed nice & fresh. Certainly worth revisiting to try other meals.

Arguably the best Asian food in Newcastle and central coast. Coral trout was amazing, grand mariner ribs and satay chicken are an absolute must. Friendly staff and you know the chef is always there just like his name on the sign out the front. Although be careful of bringing out of Towners..one friend from Sydney was heard to remark “I can never have Chinese again!” Because nothing will live up to the taste of Paul’s 👌

Chicken wing was over cooked and seasoning, meat was dry. Fish cake is average but it’s commercial product not home made , curry puff not much filling . All the entree serve with sweet chili sauce , who would serve curry puff with sweet chili sauce ? The main , twice cooked-pork belly was just average with no wok favor, stir fry veg is not cook specially the broccoli and mushroom 🤮， Malay curry was blank and flat, lamb cutlets is way way over seasoning , too salt and over cook , very pricey … for Asian cuisine. Can’t compare with couple of years ago when Paul was still in the shop , soz to see its level go down like this and won’t be back .
