First the positive: - nice decor and ambient atmosphere - tapas were nice - The lady that served us was very nice and attentive. We mentioned that we cant do pork so she later came back to check that one the dishes had wine in it and if that was okay. We confirmed as it’s not an issue once it’s cooked off. - the mains were good for the most part. The lamb dish was excellent and really well cooked The negatives: - service is really slow at time and tables that ordered much later than us got their food first - they don’t do a great deal of adjusting to dietary requirements. We cant have pork so wanted to have the spatchcock dish without the chorizo but they outright refused. They could have just made it without or replaced it with something else. Not a huge deal but it would be nice to see an effort being made. - The beef cheeks dish, all you could taste was red wine and nothing else. Absolutely overpowered by the sauce and it wasn’t pleasant. We just ended up eating the meat avoiding the sauce. - A bit pricey for what it is but we get that it’s a more “fine dining experience” One bizarre thing worth mentioning, they had surcharge of 10% for groups over 8. Not that it affected us at all but found it very strange. Was a good experience but could have been an excellent experience with some very easy adjustments.

Good place to have dinner with your love, the menu is in Spanish, so I feel a little bit uncomfortable to order as I can’t speak Spanish but I can explain that I want this dish by saying the ingredients. Paella, there are 2 types of them, I prefer the seafood one rather than chicken. Amazing service from all of them, they are so kind, nice willing to serve us. Incredible service. The price is okay, but the service is more than expected.

Upon arrival, was greeted by friendly wait staff. Ambiance is an intimate vibe - dim lighting, dark interior and furnishings. Great for date night Tapas style menu makes ordering a little easier for a foodie, like myself, as I like to try many of the delicious dishes on the menu. Overall, a fantastic dining experience. The little sized morsels may look deceptive to an empty stomach but the richness in flavours will fill you up! Will happily return for another round. Dishes ordered on the evening: Croquettes (very moreish; tasty cheesy filling), Bollo - stuffed potato (rich, fluffy), Zucchini flowers (delicate filling, savoury tangy tomato base), Cangrejo - crumpets (absolute standout; rich; savoury - just addictive), Huevas - whipped cod roe (so delicious with house baked bread), Beef Cheek (another standout dish; melt in your mouth deliciousness), Cheesecake (fluffy; not too sweet)

Movida Aqui is a great spot if you're in the mood for some authentic Spanish food. The place has this really cool, vibrant vibe that's both modern and cozy—perfect for a dinner with friends, a date night, or out with the family. The food is always amazing. Their tapas are the real stars of the show. You’ve got to try the anchovy with smoked tomato sorbet, sounds unusual, but is so good! The croquettes are also delicious. It’s the kind of menu where you’ll want to try a little bit of everything. The drinks are just as impressive. They’ve got a fantastic selection of Spanish wines, craft beers, and cocktails, and the staff is super knowledgeable if you’re unsure what to pair with your food. Everyone is really friendly and attentive. All in all, Movida Aqui is more than just a restaurant, it’s an experience. It’s a little slice of Spain in the heart of Melbourne!

The ambience and the service were great. Beautiful tables and comfortable chairs and friendly waiters. The food, doesn’t quite match the quality of the original movida. We had the set menus and there were some hit and misses. The toasts with Jamon , the stuffed peppers were beautiful. Anchovies was super salty, the beef cheek, while soft and was charred and on the dry side and not salty enough. The cauliflower puree was delicious though. The fish was just so so. The flan was nice and so was the churros. Overall the misses kinda overtake the hits a bit
