The food here is absolutely gorgeous. If you get lucky, the semi-open kitchen lets you watch the chef craft the dumplings, which is such a treat. The restaurant is on the smaller side, so it can feel a bit cozy or slightly claustrophobic. The staff are so kind, which makes the experience even better
I ordered the steamed chicken dumplings โ unfortunately, the chicken was quite dry. I was expecting a juicy, tender dumpling with that burst of flavour and juices on the first bite, but it just wasnโt there. I tried adding soy sauce and other sauces but it didnโt help much. That said, the customer service and hospitality here are always lovely, which I really appreciate.
We had an awesome meal We had half/half pork/kimchi dumplings. We preferred the fried ones. We also had bi-bim mandoo. The owner was saying that we were getting into the chili dipping sauce with the the dumplings and so offered us his favourite sauce for the bi bin mandoo. It was excellent. We were full. It was a busy place at people ate and left and even a bit of a line out the door. Definitely not YouTube or dumplings. worth a try.
Dined at Mandoo for my last dinner in Adelaide during my trip in April this year. There was a short queue when we arrived around 7pm ish. Full on homely vibes, like a warm hug. A family owned restaurant really hits different. Ordered their dumpling soup as well (not pictured). My parents and I enjoyed the whole meal. Itโs difficult to find handmade mandoo (Iโm located in SG) so I will be dreaming of their dumplings forever till I get to eat them again ๐ฅน
Homemade mandoo (Korean dumplings) with a variety of fillings! What surprised us was the tofu bibimbap!!! So full of flavour, mixed together was perfect for a rainy Winter night. Donโt forget to order a side of seaweed salad for your greens fix ๐
