About

When this place first opened, I remember they served me a mediocre laksa. Now, I think they serve one of the best laksas around.

Assam laksa at Malay Chinese, The soup was tangy, spicy, and sweet, which packed a nice umami punch, including a generous amount of fish pieces. However, it ended up being way too sour. I tried adding some extra prawn paste (Har Cheong Gai) to balance it out, but it just didn't help with the sourness. I was hoping for a more balanced flavor to make it work, but sadly, that didn’t happen. Overall, I’d give it a 6.5/10. While it had potential, the sourness was a bit much for my taste.

The laksa I had was authentic and full of flavor. The broth was subtly flavored with fragrant of shrimp and chicken bone. The shrimps in the laksa were a bit bland and the restaurant provided only 1 piece of tofu. The overall portion is good.

3.8 - Wandered in and ordered a Seafood Laksa (It was okay but no real seafood except for 3 prawns. Next time, I might just have the Prawn Laksa so I assume I would get more in there). You have to get the food as they call it out. No service in that way, but relatively friendly. Very echoey interiors so wouldn't go as a large group as it would really make others headachey! Food was a 4 star. They should have some mugs for people to have tap water so they don't have to constantly go back with tiny paper cups. The food is quite oily so I would have liked to buy a hot beverage if they want to make some.

I tried special menu, Har Mee. It was nice and delicious. It is quite worthwhile to try if you like prawn based soup. Clear but thick and flavour-rich noodle. And the staffs were very friendly, the atmosphere was fancy as well.

When this place first opened, I remember they served me a mediocre laksa. Now, I think they serve one of the best laksas around. They used pre-steamed chicken, juicy and tender. The broth is rich with flavour. Their combination hor fun is also very good. Lots of plump seafood meats swimming in rich hor fun sauce. I have to say that their Thursday & Friday specials (assam laksa and seafood noodle soup) are a bit... more on the acquired taste side. The assam laksa had a fruity sweet flavour profile from the pineapples, and the seafood noodle soup had a veeery overpowering prawn flavour. Overall, great place, would recommend. I was considering giving 4/5 for food because of the weird specials, but I think the normal menus are 5/5 quality. P.S. Please have water readily available instead of making the customers specifically request it.
