Went there for a dinner after a long time. This restaurant has been in our experience declining over time. The quality and flavour of the food is just average. Do not order curry fish head - chunk of overcooked deep fried fish - totally unauthentic preparation. Rest all fishes were ok, just average nothing to rave about in terms of flavour. This is a family run places which is declining in flavour but increasing steadily in price. Not worth for the price one pays at this place.

There were 6 of us and we all really enjoyed the food. We ordered the Fish Head Curry, Ikan Bakar, Kangkung Belacan, Kam Heong prawns, and more โ€” everything was delicious. The Fish Head Curry and Ikan Bakar are especially highly recommended. We went around 2pm, it wasnโ€™t busy, and the food came out very quickly. The guy who served us was super nice and looked after us really well. Great experience overall and would definitely come back.

I really enjoyed the food at Malacca Straits. The flavours were fantastic, and the tofu in particular was absolutely amazing. It was beautifully cooked, full of flavour, and easily the standout dish for me. Overall, the food quality was excellent and definitely something Iโ€™d come back for. Service was well-intentioned, and you can tell the staff are trying to give guests a good experience. That said, it did feel a little pushy at times, with repeated suggestions to order items we werenโ€™t interested in, which took away slightly from an otherwise enjoyable meal. Still, the food alone makes this place worth visiting, and with a bit more relaxed service, it would be an even better experience.

Great Malaysian food. All dishes were of good quality and tasted great. The ikan bakar ($55.50) was fantastic. The tender fish, paired with the spicy and sweet sambal, made for a great combination. 4.5-5/5. The prawn laksa ($18.80) was decent. The laksa had a nice rich, slightly spicy, coconut flavour to it which went well with the vermicelli noodles and paired. 4-4.5/5. We also got the Kangkung Belcan ($23.80). The vegetables were fresh, cooked well and had a tasty savoury and spicy prawny flavour to it. It was a little too salty for my liking, but that was a minor issue. 4-4.5/5. Overall, well made Malaysian food. Overall, 4.5/5.

Great flavours and generous servings! We went on a random Monday at lunch time and there was a decent crowd. Still there were always a couple of tables available so no one had to wait to be seated. The Char Koay Teow was enjoyable and had I ordered the dish with beef instead it would have been almost identical to the Cantonese style dish ๅนฒ็‚’็‰›ๆฒณ. The Nasi Lemak was decent.
