Used to be my favourite Italian restaurant, the Chefโs Special will forever live in my heart. However, since the new owners took over in April, they have taken to generative ai for promotional pictures and it has become hard to support. Youโre an Italian restaurant, you make the food - just take photos of the food? Iโm sure they can afford to make a few dishes for promotional photos because theyโve seemingly upped the prices of all the sauces about 25%. The portion sizes have seemingly stayed the same at the least. Getting a main for $24 - especially at the size they were was always a delight. $30 is appropriate, but the joy is gone. The service has always been great, as has the food, itโs quite sad that the shift in management has gutted the warmth and charm from the restaurant that I have previously recommended people should travel from Melbourne to try, as well as the entirety of my family. Hopefully we will see this restaurant come back around to what made it great. Seeing businesses Iโve known since my childhood fall into the hands of owners who only care to maximise profit at the expense of its customers has become all too common. Arrivederci Luke and Pep.
This was our first time dining here on the 25/10/25 and unfortunately, the experience was a bit underwhelming. When we arrived no one greeted us, so we walked to the back counter/bar area to let staff know we had a booking. We were given cups but no water, which felt a little strange. Overall, the hospitality wasnโt very warm or welcoming, it wouldโve been nice if the staff were a bit more friendly and accommodating.
A warm and inviting family-style Italian restaurant with exceptionally friendly and enthusiastic staff. From the moment you walk in, the cozy atmosphere and popularity are evidentโmany tables were already reserved. The food is delicious and thoughtfully prepared, with the carbonara standing out as a must-try. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience that Iโd happily recommend.

Authentic Italian restaurant with great vibes and good service. Pastas were delicious. Garlic Bread complements the mains well, though more bread options would be a plus (e.g. sour dough bread). Next to try would be the pizzas. Bookings are essential for peak times.
