Had the most amazing meal last night at Yuk Gam. We ordered the Angus set menu for two ans the variety was unreal! Great service and fun vibe. Thank you!
Iโve never had barbecue this bad: 1. The restaurant is very hard to find. 2. As soon as you walk in, there is a strong pork smell. 3. We ordered the Angus beef platter, but when it arrived, about half of the meat was still frozen. The slices stuck straight to the grill, then turned mushy and fell through the gaps on the sides. Going to a restaurant just to eat frozen meat like this is honestly unbelievable. 4. The most outrageous part is that there is no ventilation or smoke exhaust system in the restaurant at all. After eating, our entire bodies smelled strongly of oil and smoke. 5. Cold soup noodle tastes terrible and there was a visible layer of solidified grease floating on top. 6. The sweet and spicy fried chicken does not match the photos or the menu description at all. The menu says the sauce is poured on first and then sprinkled with sesame seeds, but in reality it was plain, unseasoned fried chicken served with a very ordinary supermarket-style sweet chili sauce on the side. 7. The sashimi portions were extremely small. 8. The seasonings were provided very sparingly. 9. The service attitude itself was acceptable, but it does not make up for the overall experience.
Great food and happy staff. Throughly enjoyed entire experience. We were novices to Korea BBQ style of eating and the staff were more than happy to so us the ropes. Kids loved cooking their own food over the grill on the table.
Great food, accommodating service, kind staffs, comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. It s good to have big group dinners as it is spacious and also prepared with cosier space for smaller groups. The meat is fresh and in high quality and other a la carte menus are marvellous. My personal favourite is the pork jowl the Hangjeongsal. ๐๐ ๐คค ๐คค Highly recommend.
You can easily find better Korean BBQ anywhere in Melbourne for less expensive. AND With free lettuce and less smokeโฆ I normally donโt give reviews, but this experience is so disappointing. We spent about $150 for two people, and I literally ended up finishing the potato salad just to not feel hungryโฆ The BBQ is ridiculously overpriced. The taste is decent, but $37 for six tiny pieces of wagyu and $32 for two strips of Angus? None of the dishes we ordered were worth their price. The cold soup noodles taste worse than the one I got from the supermarket. The atmosphere and service is okay, but the whole place fills up with smoke, and our clothes smelled terrible even after we got home. Also, they donโt offer free lettuce unless you order a set, which is surprising. Iโve never been to a Korean BBQ place that charges extra for lettuce. Overall bad value and not worth the experience.
