I was excited to visit here to eat proper Indonesian food which I love, after hearing many good reviews.... I ordered the Kari Peng and was disappointed. The sauce just tasted like chicken stock powder.. was there an error in the kitchen? There was no other flavours or spices and it was very salty. The soy pork belly was a small amount of shredded pork on the top. I couldn't taste it over the flavour of chicken stock powder. I also ordered a drink but had to ask for it twice as the staff forgot to make it. I ordered an hour and fifteen minutes before closing time, but the staff seemed more focussed on cleaning and packing the cafe up for the end of the day. The roti was flaky and nice.

The reviews seemed promising, so I was genuinely looking forward to trying this place. With Indonesian heritage, I ordered Batagor and Lontong Sayur hoping for a taste of home, but sadly, it missed the mark. The peanut sauce had a sour tang and an unusually dark brown colour, quite different from the light, creamy version typical of Batagor. The Lontong Sayur was puzzling: no vegetables at all, and the broth was overly oily. The rice cake was soft and soggy, lacking the firm, al dente texture thatโ€™s expected. To add to the disappointment, the food appeared to have been reheated in a microwave. I truly want to support businesses that showcase Indonesian cuisine, but based on this experience, I wouldnโ€™t feel comfortable recommending it. I hope the feedback helps the team refine the dishes and better reflect the rich flavours of Indonesia.

Kopiku is a hidden gem in O'Connor! The Indonesian food is authentic and delicious, with generous portions , The staff is friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home. The coffee is also top-notch. Overall, a great spot for anyone looking for a taste of Indonesia in Canberra. Can't wait to go back!

Went to visit last Saturday with my friend as we wanted Indonesian food for lunch. The food was absolutely incredible!! We got the chicken rendang and the chicken fried rice which were both also served in very generous portions! I also got an iced latte which was really good, the coffee beans were roasted just right and served with the precise amount of ice. Although there were many customers to serve and even a queue when we were there, the three young gentlemen at front of house did amazing holding down the fort. 10/10. Would 100% recommend! ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ
