The food was amazing. The dessert of sticky rice and pandan custard was a surprise - we loved it. Share plates are definitely enough for 2-3 people. Service was quick and our servers were friendly and polite. Highly recommend!!

Been hearing great things about Kantan and finally got the opportunity to try it. Will definitely be back again to try their other dishes! Everything was tasty and the flavours were authentically Malaysian. The curry that accompanied the roti jala, which in itself is not very common in Melbourne, was rich and creamy. The veggie curry was light and paired well with the rice. The mee siam was excellent if you miss the dry version of this dish, it also came with a side of gravy for some additional flavour should one choose to use. Finished off with some lovely desserts, great that the kueh (Malay jelly cake) was served warm. The jackfruit sago was very yummy and not overly sweet although I did find that the ice cubes detracted from the overall experience. Great service from the staff, even though they were apparently down one kitchen staff member. Well worth a visit!

We tried 🔥 Roti Canai – the perfect crispy, flaky roti with rich, flavorful curry. 🐟 Barramundi Fish Curry with Rice– bold, aromatic, and packed with depth. 🍜 Laksa – silky, spicy, and so comforting. 🍗 Kantan Fried Chicken – crispy, juicy, and impossible to stop eating! 🍤 Mussel in prawn sauce - yummiest flavor The roti canai was next level, so fresh and perfectly made. Every dish here feels like it’s made with love and tradition. My kids loved everything and actually enjoyed trying a bit of every dish since we shared plates…. total win-win for school holidays On top of that, the staff are truly the best so welcoming and friendly.

April 2025 This place is amazing. Nice service, and the chicken laska was the best. It was one of the tastiest I've ever had. The kantan fried chicken was good, the rice was tasty, but the roti was pretty average. The wine selection is good. They also serve orange wines, which is awesome. I'll go back asap.
