I recently dined at Joomak Korean restaurant and had a terrible experience. The service was poor from start to finish. We ordered grilled beef ribs, but what arrived was completely different from the picture on the menu. There was no grill plate, and the plating was nothing like the advertisement. At first, I assumed all tables had the same food, but I soon discovered that other customers had ordered exactly the same dishes as pictured on the menuโand they all had grill plates. I felt unfairly treated. When I raised the issue at checkout, the waiter explained that our table was "too small" to fit the grill plate. This was simply unacceptableโall the tables in my area of โโthe restaurant were the same size, including ours. It was more of an excuse than an apology. In short, the terrible service, misleading plating, and unhelpful responses made me feel disrespected as a customer. I will never return to this restaurant and would not recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Korean cuisine or respectful customer service.
Joomarkโs peach rice wine is an absolute knockout! As soon as you open the bottle, it hits you with fresh, full-bodied peach aroma, blended with the mellow base of rice wine. Itโs sweet but not cloying, smooth yet not greasy. Chilled, it glides down your throat refreshingly, like biting into a juicy, bursting peach. The low alcohol content gives you a nice, gentle buzz that just tints your cheeks pink. Itโs perfect paired with grilled meat or enjoyed on its ownโeven your burps will smell like sweet, fresh peaches afterwards.
I had a wonderful dining experience at Joomak. The atmosphere was warm, cozy, and very inviting, making it a great place to enjoy a meal with friends or family. The food was delicious and well presented, with rich flavors that felt authentic and satisfying. I especially enjoyed the balance of seasoning and the freshness of the ingredients. The staff were friendly, attentive, and quick to help, which made the experience even better. Overall, Joomak is a fantastic restaurant that offers great food, excellent service, and a comfortable environment. I would definitely recommend it and look forward to coming back again.
Hidden underground and easy to miss, but Joomak has been around for years for a reason. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, perfect for a relaxed meal. We ordered the seafood pancake which was crispy and packed with flavour, plus the half-and-half Korean fried chicken โ both sauces were excellent. The sundae & suyuk was surprisingly good, and the tteokbokki tasted very traditional. So many classic Korean dishes on the menu, everything we tried was solid. A reliable spot Iโd happily return to.
Great vibes, cozy booth seating, and delicious food! The Korean Fried Chicken had a crunchy coating that had a mildly sweet flavour, meat was nice and juicy. Beef Rib Fingers was a highlight, tasty marinade and lovely chargrill aroma.
