Amazing Korean BBQ spot! The food was absolutely awesomeโeverything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The service was just as great: friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Definitely a place Iโd come back to and recommend to anyone who loves Korean BBQ.
On the recommendation of friends we found ourselves at JoA. A quick trip down the road to Bruce with plenty of parking we soon realised we were in for a treat. We have been to BBQ in Canberra in several locations and I'm happy to say JoA is my favourite. A group of 4 we ordered the Seoul Set pack and that was absolutely plenty. The meat was excellent and there was a big selection of sides to try. I chose the soy stew and the kimchi pancakes which were both delicious. The staff were great running through the meat and showed us how to use the BBQ, advised on grilling time. This was very useful and a great part of the service. Thanks for having us we had a great time and the food was delicious. See you again soon.
Iโve been a few times to Joa but last time was over a year ago. The meat is excellent and the side dish (help yourself is really good). We did find that the prices seemed to have gone up significantly and the BBQ selection for two decreased down to one choice which includes pork. The restaurant was very cold (and I donโt mind cold but it was really cold). The staff are very friendly and courteous but they need to keep the side dishes topped up - there were always 2-4 dishes empty. Tip - we went at 6.30pm and it was busy for families and kids - if youโre a couple I would suggest going at 7.30pm. I recommend booking as well.
We've been to JoA a few times since it's opened and each time we've enjoyed the quality of the meat and side dishes. We have not been for a while and after going recently, the meal was pricer than I remember (about $65 per person) and we walked away with still plenty of room for more food. I'm not sure whether it's what we ordered or prices have just gone up.
I have to say this is the best Korean BBQ in Canberra, the quality of the meat is top, all the staffs are really nice and friendly. They offer small size of choice for me to try more different things. Great environment! Will come back again!
