The Kingfish sushi was good, with flavours of seaweed and rice that were pleasant. The cocktail was average. While it was impressive to see ingredients like good quality Wagyu, the beef serving size was disappointing. The Wagyu flavours werenโ€™t strong enough to complement the rice. The seasoning wasnโ€™t consistent, with some dishes like the abalone being nicely neutral and others like the sweetbread being punchier. It felt like different chefs or restaurants had created the dishes. Some, like the corn snow crab and duck with eggplant puree, werenโ€™t harmonious. The service was exceptional and prompt but the food for this price wonโ€™t be coming back.

This resturant is beyond amazing. The location is quite cool, being underground, and the atmosphere as soon as you walk in makes you feel like your part of something intimate and cool. Every single person we spoke to on the night was exceptional, very friendly and professional, and all of the little things like water refills were effortless. Now for the food! Prepare yourself, this will be a once in a lifetime kind of meal. Every dish is incredibly well thought out and complex, whilst also being generous. I was afraid we'd be hungry when we left, and I can assure you, that will not be the case! Highlights were the sweetbreads and the tuna, but everything was devine. I am so grateful that I got the opportunity to dine here, and I will be back again for a very special occasion.

It was an amazing experience. The food was high-end with very fresh ingredients, and the service was absolutely top-notch. I had to leave early after dessert that day due to other commitments, and the restaurant even contacted me the next day to check if everything was okay and whether I had left because of any dissatisfaction. It was truly heart-warming. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Melbourne in terms of service

We were here six years ago and were impressed by the experience, this place continues to deliver great food and great service. Their seasonal menu is packed with interesting dishes that includes oyster, Otoro sushi, caviar, tempura, crab meat, A5 wagyu beef from Kumamoto, green lip abalone (for those chose not to have beef), Murray cod, duck and dessert. They have a good wine and sake selection, we went with two types of sake that complement the dishes well. They are using a bit more local ingredients like seafood but still getting some top products from Japan (like beef and blue fin tuna) Thereโ€™re only 12 counter seats, the chef and team cook right in front of us so itโ€™s really enjoyable to see how itโ€™s all done. The service is attentive and polite, really feel pampered. Itโ€™s advisable to be slightly early as to enjoy the whole experience, thereโ€™s a nice waiting area. Weโ€™ll be back for the next seasonโ€™s menu.

Great experience with an exceptionally well-curated collection of dishes. Although Iโ€™ve been to fine dining restaurants of different cuisines around the world, Iโ€™d still place Ishizuka at the very top after what I experienced last night. If you enjoy Japanese omakase, this is the place youโ€™ll want to visit in Melbourne.
