Came here with family after hearing about the chilli crab. They show you the live crab before cooking which is cool - very fresh. The sauce is rich and goes perfectly with the fried buns. We also tried the angus ribs (tender and well flavoured) and salted egg squid (crispy and not too heavy). The menu says itโs not traditional Malaysian, more like a modern take. I liked that you can ask for less salt/oil/chilli on some dishes if you want. Service was friendly, place is small but nice for a casual dinner. Prices are okay for the CBD. Will come back.
I came here with my family. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The decor is slightly retro with a cool exposed roof! The bathrooms are really nice. The food was beautiful. We had Wagyu Beef Rendang and Roasted Duck pancakes. The waitress asked about our dietary requirements which was really good. We will come again
With all the hype, the food is a bit of a hit and miss. Overpriced but at the same time I think we are paying for the ambiance and the atmosphere. Char koey teow was on the sweeter side and not โcharโ enough. Duck egg fried squid was really good, crispy lot of flavour. Hor fun is ok so say the least. Teh tarik was really sweet. Claypot chicken was decent with good balance of umami and ingredients. Overall a 6/10, I think there are better options out there.
After dinner today, we met up with a family friend at this place to try their desserts. There were eight of us, and as it was after dinner, the restaurant wasnโt too busy. We were promptly seated and attended to by a very friendly male server who made us feel welcome right away. We ordered three ice kacang, an ice cendor , a Teh Tarik affogato, a sago coconut pudding, and a plate of char hor fun for our friendโs child. The desserts were served quickly, giving us plenty of time to catch up while enjoying the delicious treats. The service was excellent, with attentive and thoughtful care from the server throughout our visit. Combined with the great dรฉcor and pleasant ambience, it made for a very enjoyable and relaxed dessert outing.
Recently obsessed with Malaysian food and finally tried Ho Liao in the CBD, so glad I did! The space feels stylish yet relaxed, perfect for a long catch-up meal. We ordered a spread of dishes we hadnโt tried before and loved how bold and satisfying everything was. The honey-glazed Angus ribs were incredibly tender, the salted duck egg squid was crispy and rich, and the claypot curry fish was fragrant without being heavy. Portions were generous and great for sharing. Theyโre also happy to adjust salt, oil, or spice levels. Finished with refreshing Malaysian shaved ice โ such a fun, comforting meal. Would definitely return with more friends!
