Ho Jiak serves chefโ€™s kiss authentic Malaysian food in Sydney! Salted egg wings & laksa are fireโ€”crispy, fragrant, perfectly spiced. Friendly staff, cozy vibe. My new go-to spot!

Having dined at Ho Jiak for nearly ten years, their new dishes continue to impress. The Choay Tau Eu Boneless Barramundi was fresh and tender, and the Vegemite Pork Ribs offered a rich, savory twist. Kiam salted egg chicken wings were a standout, crispy and addictive. Abalone Fu Jian Fried Rice was exceptionally flavorful, and Pai Tee appetizers were a delightful, crispy treat. I also appreciate that they can adjust the salt, spice, or oil in dishes. A consistently satisfying Malaysian dining experience.

Finally tried Ho Jiak, a popular eatery among Malaysians in Sydney's Haymarket district. Ordered a wa tan hoh with king prawns and a chee cheong fun to takeaway for one. The place has a nice vibe and decorated with many Malaysian popular eminders, especially of Penang. The wa tan hoh is alright - had good wok hei and the prawns were OK. The chee cheong fun was different from what I was used to - so less authentic I guess, but arguably creative in a way.

Absolutely delicious food, a perfect combination of flavors! We had pork belly and chicken satay, followed by the delicious dessert bubur ayam hitam, black sticky rice with coconut milk. I enjoyed my lunch! The staff is especially nice and friendly! Congratulations to the chef and everyone, you do a great job! ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’ฏ
