Goong Restaurant on Aplin Street in Cairns deserves a 5 star rating. Our tuna tataki starter was perfectly cooked sitting on a very delicious small salad with a beautiful dressing. There are a variety of main options to add to your bento box. I chose the Bulgogi which was both delicious and very filling. It was accompanied with miso and a bowl of rice. As we had an early booking the atmosphere was nice and quiet with only a handful of other diners. But this restaurant is popular and for good reason. The staff are attentive and friendly and the food is so well presented and perfectly cooked, I highly recommend Goong restaurant ❤️

My partner and I have been here at least a dozen times over the years and it's been consistently fantastic. We love the food above all, as well as the unpretentious and welcoming setting. We have very often been when it's been fully booked and having to turn people away - love that it's so popular! The service is great and wait-staff lovely and considerate. Goong is out go-to 😊
