Yummo! We had the combo pho and a veit coffee each. Broth was excellent and the meats were tender. The sausage was soft and delish, not rubbery like most places. Hidden gem.
Just had a beautiful bo kล here. Light, but with beautiful flavours. Cooked by auntie. One of the best I've had anywhere. So good. A fortnight ago we had really good banh mi, beef lemongrass and the chicken one too. And an excellent rare beef phล with great depth of flavour. Generous serves too. We came back again , this time especially for the beef brisket phรด. They don't have it all the time, but if they do, it's usually early in the week. It was cooked perfectly, not too smoky, but it did have a delicious new slightly smoky dimension to the phรด. The addition of Thai or Vietnamese basil would have made it an easy 10/10, but they couldn't get any in time for today. Next time. If you ever get the chance, order the brisket phรด. We also ordered the beef lemongrass vermicelli salad. It was flavourful and generous, well balanced with just the right amount of spice. The owners Stephen and Jenny are really trying hard to make Em Saigon something special. They are always thinking of ways to improve their food and service. I think they are doing a great job. Innovation and entrepreneurship like this in the retail hospitality space should be supported. If not, all we end up with is the franchised big guys and no innovation.
Rated 4.64. Delicious pho ($18) and very good, albeit messy, crispy pork banh mi ($13). Rice paper rolls ($10) were tasty but fell apart. I guess this is a family run place because a quirky kid served us.
Em Saigon is a hidden Brisbane gem serving fresh, flavour-packed Vietnamese dishes at fair CBD prices, tasty food, friendly service, and great value. Tucked away down a quiet side street, this spot feels like a proper local find among the bustle of the city. Food (4/5): I had the lemongrass chicken rice bowl, and it was excellent; full of flavour, well portioned, and nicely balanced. You can tell the ingredients are fresh, and it had that perfect mix of sweet, salty, and fragrant. For around $17, itโs good value for a city lunch or casual dinner. The fish sauce was tasty and added nice flavour with a hint of chilli. Service (4/5): Staff were friendly, efficient, and welcoming. No fuss, just good hospitality. Atmosphere (4/5): Small, relaxed, and unpretentious with a cosy vibe that suits the tucked-away location. Overall: A great little Vietnamese spot right in the CBD. Tasty food, friendly staff, and reasonable prices make this an easy one to recommend. Rating: 4/5 โญ๏ธ Fresh, flavoursome, and well worth a visit if youโre craving Vietnamese in Brisbane.
Stumbled across this Vietnamese noodle soup spot (Pho) after visiting the QLD Museum, and it was such a great find! Beef Brisket Noodle Soup โ The brisket was cooked to perfection: tender, soft, and melt-in-your-mouth. The broth was piping hot, mild, and full of depth โ just what you need to refresh after a long stroll. Spicy Beef Noodle Soup โ Wonderfully balanced with just the right kick. Every sip was addictive, and it honestly felt like the perfect detox hangover cure. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming โ it felt like being treated as family. Thank you for the warm service! Not many dining tables, so be prepared for take-aways. I found Banh Mi seems to be another one that I will try next time. Highly recommended to anyone visiting nearby.
