Davidโs kitchen is my absolute favourite for Malay food. I often recommend this place to my friends who want good value for money (most of the meals are under $20). People are lovely, serving are very generous. Cuisine is authentic and they are not trying to be something they are not. Highly recommend the Nasi Goreng, and the Laksa. Load of locals there which is always a good sign. Donโt look further and have a try. You wonโt be disappointed
I absolutely love the laksa here, it is always my go to and so are the satay chicken skewers. I have taken friends and family here and they always enjoy the food and rate it highly too because of the flavor, diversity and value! The owners are also super sweet and lovely to chat with, they are dedicated to provide excellent customer service and very friendly!
A very popular restaurant indeed. They serve a mix of Thai and malaysian cuisine. There is a sort of outdoor kitchen that just sells takeaway food. Plenty of options at this buffet and you can tell the food is great and reasobly priced by the amount of people queuing up to get their takeaways.
A hidden gem for anyone craving real Malaysian and Asian comfort food! The laksa was rich and aromatic, the sambal had just the right kick, and the portions were generous. The ambience was cozy, and the team made us feel truly welcome. Highly recommended for both locals and tourists.
Plain Jane decor going back to the 80s/90s - nothing out of place and most importantly not pretentious. Service was efficient and attentive. I was in shorts that evening and somewhat kept bitten by mosquitoes or was it fleas throughout the course of dinner. Tried hard to focus on the food served before me. Had Hainanese Chicken rice and it wasnโt the kind of HCR I get in SG. Nonetheless, it was nice albeit a tad bland; thankfully not salty like the soup that comes with it and the rice lacked fragrance as HCR should be. The chilli sauce was not the kind I am expecting, it was not spicy - no punch to it, it tasted sweet. The chicken was tender and it came with salad which was unusual but appreciated. The serving was generous and priced reasonably. It was not the best HCR I had but definitely not the worst. In a nutshell, it was good value for money in CBD. Partner opted for the ready cooked meals over the counter as it seemed very popular. Good selection to choose from as well as the serving was generous but each of them is so salty that without rice, we simply could not eat it on its own. It was like our quarterly quota of sodium in one meal. That was a total let down. Will definitely return for more, wonโt write them off just yet. There is more + than -. A business I wish they continue to prosper as my time there brought back memories of joints like this I went to back in Uni days.
