We visited Citrique on the Gold Coast in November 2024 and absolutely loved it — the Morton Bay bugs were amazing, plentiful, and worth every dollar. Naturally, we were excited to return recently, but unfortunately, the experience this time was completely disappointing. I even called ahead before booking to confirm there would be plenty of Morton Bay bugs, and was reassured that, as a buffet, there would be no issue. When we arrived, there were hardly any left. The few we managed to get did not taste fresh at all. After about half an hour, more bugs were brought out, but they were warm, fishy-smelling, and clearly not fresh. For a premium seafood buffet, this is unacceptable. While there were prawns and other dishes available, the Morton Bay bugs are meant to be the highlight, and to have them served in that state was shocking. The service itself did not help either — there was no acknowledgment or effort to resolve the issue. It’s incredibly disappointing that a place we loved enough to return has fallen so far below expectations. For a high-end seafood buffet, freshness and quality should never be compromised. Sadly, we cannot recommend Citrique based on this experience. 22/1/26 update Thank you so much for your Standard reply that I’m seeing for lots of other reviews! clearly nothing is gonna be done and no we will not be returning. We had a much more enjoyable fresher seafood experience at Harvest Buffet! Even though the reviews aren’t as good there we had a much more enjoyable time and fresher experience.

My first buffet in the gold coast, and I’d say i enjoyed it, all food is served fresh. Staff are amazing! Especialy gina, she’s informative. Will defs go back in here

Jackie the person who looked after us was brilliant. And when I say looked after us, she certainly did.. non intrusive but so helpful, smiley and very articulate with the service she provided. We went to buffet and came back every time to clean and folded napkins, clean table and empty bowls for scraps.. she made our experience so good. Thank u Jackie. We had a lovely time for our friends 70th birthday.. we will be back..

Had a great dinner here for birthday celebration. Thank you Josy for her warm hospitality. She introduced the signature dishes well so we could make a good choice for our dinner.

Very fine and high quality food with nice plating. Love the fish and wagyu beef with beautiful and delicious sides. My family enjoy it so much. My son who studies Culinary gives very good feedbacks. Strongly recommended. 👍👍👍
