Extremely disappointing and frankly unacceptable, especially given the outrageous prices this restaurant charges. The quality is nowhere near the level implied by the menu or the pricing. The so-called “ jamón iberico” was of clearly low quality, not properly specified on the menu, and poorly sliced, showing a complete lack of professionalism. Calling this product “Iberian” is, at best, misleading. The octopus dish was a joke: a ridiculously small portion, completely swimming in oil, with no balance, no technique, and no respect for the ingredient, or the customer. While the staff were polite and tried to be understanding, management’s attitude was disappointing. After pointing out the issues, there was no apology whatsoever, no acknowledgment of the poor experience, not even a symbolic gesture such as offering a coffee. For a restaurant positioning itself at this price point, this is simply unacceptable. This is a place that relies on appearance and inflated pricing rather than quality, transparency, or basic customer care. A complete waste of money. I will not be returning and strongly advise others to avoid it.
We visited Balcón by Tapavino on a Saturday night and absolutely loved the ambience. It wasn’t overly busy, which made the noise level perfect, lively but not overwhelming. The overall atmosphere was just fantastic. The space itself is beautiful, and the bar area is such a nice place to start the night. We arrived early and had a drink at the bar before heading to our table, and I really appreciated that we never felt rushed. We ended up staying for quite a long time because we tried several of their drinks, including a beautiful Riesling, a couple of cocktails, and some of their Spanish rums. For starters, we ordered the croquettes and the House Mató Cheese with wild honey. Both were genuinely excellent. The croquettes were so delicious that I actually wished we’d ordered more, small serving but packed with flavour. The Mató cheese was lovely too; I really enjoyed the honeycomb pairing, which added sweetness without overpowering it. For our main, we ordered the paella, and unfortunately this was the only disappointment of the night. The flavour and texture really missed the mark, and we ended up eating very little of it, despite how great it looks in the photo I took. It was a shame considering how great everything else had been. That said, the service throughout the whole evening was wonderful, attentive, friendly, and helpful. We actually stayed right until closing because we were enjoying ourselves so much. Overall, it’s a beautiful restaurant with fantastic ambience, great drinks, and amazing starters. I’d happily come back, but I’d probably skip the paella next time.
Absolutely incredible! Beautifully lit restaurant; warm, inviting, and full of charm. We sat in the cute outdoor area at the back under the fairy lights, spacious, super cosy and homey. The service was outstanding!! Every staff member was so attentive and friendly. We couldn’t decide what to order because everything looked amazing, but our waiter Lucas took the time to ask what we liked and created the perfect selection for us. Every little detail I usually complain about was flawless-glasses never empty, new plates and cutlery between courses, and dishes perfectly timed. Food was next-level. Every plate was packed with flavour, perfectly cooked and balanced so well. The cheesecake was so good we finished it before we could even take a photo! Super generous portions too. Croqueta – 10/10 (crispy, creamy, and cheesy) Pickles – 10/10 (fresh, tangy, and a perfect palate cleanser) Grilled Gamba Prawn & Chorizo – 8/10 (bold, smoky flavours) Wagyu Cecina – 10/10 (melt-in-your-mouth perfection & that mustard oil…) Roasted Pumpkin & Potatoes – 10/10 (comforting and perfectly seasoned) Basque Cheesecake – 10/10 (creamy, caramelized, and huge) Ughhhhh can’t wait to come back 🥹🥰🤤
The atmosphere is great, and the food quality is good, but the only thing missing is the taste. The chef should improve the flavor of the dishes, and the paella was really disappointing!! We informed the staff after she asked for our feedback, so the restaurant can make improvements. We’ve been here before around 2–3 years ago, and the food was much tastier back then
Great food and great service, the menu is not one that will let you leave hungry. There is lots of variety in the tasty morsels being served. The homemade cheese was amazing, but to be fair to all other dishes, they were all good. Service was great with food coming at a good, constant but not overwhelming pace, and advise and information offered where needed. The menu shows that good food doesn’t have to be complex, when you have great ingredients in the dishes combined with love, passion for food and a knowledge how to combine flavours. Loved it.
