Went to this place on a Sun for dinner. Food was good. We got Broken Rice (22 dollars, white rice, grilled pork chop, fried egg), a vegetarian fried rice which was 18, a Hanoi Chicken Noodles (about 20 I think) and a Stuffed Chicken Wing (chicken + minced carrots + minced meat I think) for 14
The taste is not bad; some dishes are special and even surprising on the first bite, but they become filling very quickly. Customer service is average. I waited for more than five minutes to be seated even though they werenโt busy and there were no other customers around. The staff were chatting at the counter and didnโt notice that someone was waiting in front of them. They did apologize once they realised.
We went to this restaurant to celebrate my boyfriendโs birthday. The place was quite busy, but even without a reservation we were able to get a table fairly quickly. We started with two appetizers: shrimp and a fried pork cake, and both were absolutely delicious. For the main courses, we ordered a beef fried rice with mustard pickles, which completely surprised me. I had never had a fried rice like this before; it was incredibly flavorful and unique. We also tried a fish dish with rice noodles that came with a purple sauce on the side. Unfortunately, the sauce had a very strong smell, and we couldnโt eat it. Despite that, the staff were all very friendly and took great care of us throughout the meal.
The portions were generous and the restaurant was pretty. The bun cha was very good, and the banh khot was nicely crispy, though lacking in flavor. The other dishes were fairly average. There were also a couple insects in the leaves which really added to the authentic experience lol.
The choice of dishes is amazing and reminiscent of street food. The cuisine is a spread of northern and southern food. It even serves cha ca la vong, a unique Hanoi dish. We liked the pho chien, which was deep fried pho, banh xeo, banh beo and banh khot. We will be back.
