A great Malaysian place in Chatswood. Their recently launched assam curry series is excellentโnicely balanced with a sweet-and-sour flavor and really delicious. The foie gras rice rolls, steamed scallops, and roast duck rice rolls are all very unique and tasty as well! The roast duck in particular has crispy skin and tender meat. Itโs a perfect spot to come with friends, have a few cocktails, and just chat and hang out.
We had an amazing experience at Amah โ staff were friendly and very helpful in selecting menu items, the menu included a variety of meat, seafood and vegetarian options, and the ambience was very lively and aesthetic. We ordered the Twice Cooked Angus Char Siu Ribs and Beef Rendang Roti Canai - both dishes were 10/10 in terms of portion size, flavour depth and texture. Genuinely we have nothing to fault! The mango matcha was probably one of the best Iโve tried as well. Highly recommend - definitely on the pricier end, but 100% worth the experience if youโre looking to try some exceptional Malaysian cuisine. Would recommend booking in advance as it gets busy :))
First time at Amah. We had the curry chicken, hainanese chicken and curry eggplant. Overall the curry dishes were very flavorful and curry sauce was on the thicker side. Hainanese chicken was average. I was disappointed that the chicken wasnโt cleaned properly as you can still see parts of the feather stuck on the skin. Otherwise everything that we had was great and Iโll definitely be back to try more dishes.
It was our first time at Amah. We celebrated a 70th Birthday - special thanks to Stephanie really made the moment special she had fantastic customer service, and went over and beyond to ensure that we were looked after and recommended food options. It is very rare to have someone who was attentive, thoughtful these days. We had the duck, wontons, fish balls and dimsims (they had very special Bakuteh and Hainan dimsims) satay sticks, roti, dry noodles Definitely will be back!
We came to Amah for the first time to celebrate a special occasion and were so glad we did. The food was excellent - authentic, comforting Malaysian flavours that really made us miss home. Every dish was on point, and the service was warm and attentive from start to finish. A wonderful experience overall, and weโll definitely be back again.
