This charming eatery can be found inside the Parade Central Shopping Mall. Here, the go-to dish served is dakgalbi, a hot grill stir-fried meal prepared right by your table. You can choose your dakgalbi type (we had the original chicken) and grill the food yourself. One dakgalbi is enough for two people, but it is a Korean dish so expect some spiciness (there is a non-spicy option available). Iโd recommend ordering the lettuce set and steam rice to complement your meal. Overall, the meal was amazing. The food tasted great and offers an uncommon DIY meal experience. The staff were super friendly and helpful. I guess if I had to find any faults, Iโd say that, since the venueโs layout is very open-plan and thus open to the rest of the shopping centre, the potential for higher noise levels will be very noticeable during busy periods. To conclude: my partner and I rarely ever eat Korean food, but the wonderful experience we had by 88 Pocha could very well make us change that.
Such a unique and authentic Korean dining experience! The restaurant is styled like a real Korean street stall with classic round tables. Itโs tucked away inside Parade Plaza, which confused us at first, but once we found it, it was totally worth it. Super friendly staff who cooked everything for us and even made a heart-shaped fried rice. Generous portions, amazing flavours, and so good wrapped with ssam and all the sides. Highly recommend!
We had a wonderful dining experience at 88 Pocha Korean Restaurant. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. The highlight of our meal was the dakgalbi, which was absolutely delicious, rich in flavour, perfectly cooked, and truly comforting. Overall, excellent food paired with warm and genuine hospitality made this a nice experience. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend 88 Pocha to anyone looking for good Korean cuisine.
This was an awesome experience. So refreshing to try something different in Adelaide. I believe 88 Pocha has only been around a year or less but itโs pumping. Such a cool idea! You order from your table from a QR code, but the staff are super friendly and helpful if itโs your first time. Not long after your food arrives, gets chucked in the hot plate and it starts cooking. Within 15 minutes (just enough time to devour some fried chicken), your main is ready! We had the cheese buldak dakgalbi and it was amazing. Huge serving for two people (we didnโt finish but we tried). So much flavour, a little spicier than I expected but nothing crazy. But honestly, the food is delicious, the service is second to none, the atmosphere is retro in a way and funky and the experience overall is one worth doing. Little touches like storage under your seat for your bags and belongings is just genius too. Highlight for me though, probably the Korean fried chickenโฆ simple I know but it was delicious. And probably best suited to groups of 2, although the my can cater for more. Recommend a visit here if you have not yet been!
Atmosphere was cool. Service was great. The dalkgabi serving is large, we ordered the feast (for 2ppl) and there was leftover for our group of 3. And just in case you're looking for somewhere to put your jacket and purse...lift up the seat!
